Following our five-semester plan, you could earn an Associate of Applied Science degree and start earning your paychecks in a rewarding computer software job within two years. Our students use computer-generated design software for preparing engineer drawings and specifications for manufacturing products.

Modeling and parametric concepts are utilized throughout the program as the drawings are used in consulting and construction to create desired structures. A Computer Drafting technician works with designers and engineers to convert their ideas into accurate drawings that specify size, shape and materials.

Our laboratories feature computer aided drafting equipment with more than 100 workstations loaded with design software programs such as Pro Engineer Wildfire, AutoCAD, 3D Studio VIZ, AutoDesk Land Development, Rivet and Architectural Desktop. An open-lab policy allows students convenient schedules and to work on projects.

The faculty takes pride in emphasizing one-on-one instruction techniques to give each student the best possible education. We want to prepare you for starting a career in high technology and challenge you to thoroughly expand your knowledge and skills. We also maintain an open-door policy for assisting you with resources and information with any special needs – financial aid, medical issues, housing accommodations, transportation – that might occur.
