Welcome to Texas State Technical College and congratulations on your decision to change the rest of your life. We thank you for your interest in TSTC. We look forward to helping make your College experience a rewarding one.

The Counseling, Advisement & Testing Center supports the success of our students by providing counselors and advisors who are eager to assist students with their personal, educational and career concerns. Our counselors and advisors introduce students to the many programs and services offered at TSTC. We offer a wide range of student services, including counseling, critical thinking workshops, outreach programs, referrals, and crisis services. In addition, our department also offers testing such as General Educational Development Test (GED), Accuplacer, Ability to Benefit, THEA, CLEP, HOBET, and Discover.

College life can be challenging and at times stressful. Students often experience difficulties adjusting to college, confusion in deciding on a major or career path, or many face struggles in relationships. Many students feel anxious or overwhelmed at some point during their college experience and need help dealing with feelings and problems that seem beyond their control.

 The Office of Counseling, Advisement & Testing is committed to providing students a comfortable and caring educational community where academic success, personal growth, and social responsibility are valued.

Our goal is to provide an open, supportive, and confidential environment for students to address the issues that concern them. We are confident that we can and will continue to help address the academic needs and challenges of our students. We are here to help all students reach their educational and personal goals.

If you are undecided in your career choice, if you are struggling with your courses, or if you’re finding that personal problems are getting in the way of your success, we have the tools to guide you and help you succeed.
