Testing Reminders:

  • Pay fee @ Cashier’s window – Student Services Bldg. 
  • Take receipt to Testing Center – Student Center (Rm.138)

Accuplacer (CPT) - Walk-In Basis

Fee:  $30 ($10 per section)

Students who have not taken the THEA (TASP) test prior to enrollment will be required to take the Accuplacer Test during the admission process and prior to registration, or provide alternate test scores such as Compass and Asset.  * 30 day waiting period to retest for same portion of the exam

Attention: Non-TSTC Students!

If you’re taking the Accuplacer Test for placement at another campus, you will be required to pay the testing fee plus an additional Official Score Fee of $20 in order for your scores to be released to you.  Payments for both test and scores will need to be paid prior to testing. (Example:  Accuplacer Test = $30, Official Scores = $20;  Total Due =$50.00)

 

Ability to Benefit (ATB) - Walk-In Basis                                                 

Fee:  $6

ATB is administered to students wishing to enroll in the College, but have not completed their high school diploma or GED.  *After initial test, two-week waiting period to retest; further attempts require three-month waiting period

Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test (HOBET) - Walk-In Basis (HOBET V Version)

Fee:  $15 (to be paid at cashiers) + $25  (to be paid with Credit Card on the day of testing)

HOBET is an entrance test administered to students interested in enrolling in the Dental Hygeine and Surgical Technology programs.  *One-year waiting period to retest 

(Dental Hygeine Deadline:  January 31, 2012)

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS-LVN) - Appointment Required      

Fee:  $15 (to be paid at cashiers) + $35  (to be paid with Credit Card on the day of testing)

TEAS is an entrance test administered to students interested in enrolling in the LVN program.

LPN STEP ONLINE ASSESSMENT (LPN-RN) - Appointment Required  

Fee:  $15 (to be paid at cashiers) + $18 (to be paid with Credit Card on the day of testing)

Developed by expert nurse educators, this two-product program assists in determining what knowledge is needed for each LPN who is considering pursuing an RN license.  LPN Step is an entrance test administered to students interested in enrolling in the RN program. RN (call Tanya Villarreal to register --- 956.364.4636) 

CLEP Exams are for TSTC credit ONLY. Each Institution has its own credit-granting policy.

 

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) - Appointment Required - NEW FEE!  (July 1, 2012) 

Fee:  $25 (to be paid at cashiers) + $80 (to be paid with Credit Card on the day of testing)

CLEP is the most widely used credit-by-examination program today:  2,900 accredited colleges and universities grant credit for satisfactory scores on CLEP exams. CLEP credits will not be awarded for any courses in which a student is currently enrolled, has been previously enrolled, and/or earned a grade, or has previously failed.  *Six-month waiting period to retest

Proctoring - Appointment Required

Fee:  $25 (to be paid at cashiers)
