Here’s what’s happening
Toys for TSTC Tots Seeks Sponsors
The Toys for TSTC Tots Committee is in search of employees and students willing to voluntarily sponsor a gift for children in the NINOS HeadStart and TSTC Early HeadStart programs and youngsters who reside in family housing facilities on campus. Sponsors will receive the gender and age of a gift recipient; the minimum amount suggested for the price of a new toy is $10. The committee also will accept monetary donations that will be spent on gift wrapping, extra gifts, and a party for children in the family housing residences. In addition to the gifts, the committee will provide turkey dinners for the immediate families of three students.
Sponsors should bring the unwrapped gifts to the Support Services Office in the Auxiliary Services Building (Building A) by 5 PM Tuesday, December 1. Contact Edda Urrea or Anna Cortez for details at 956.364.4520. The committee – with some assistance from Santa Claus and his helpers – will distribute gifts Tuesday, December 8.
Food for the Needy
Please bring canned food donations to the collection boxes located in every building on campus. The Staff Senate will collect the food November 20. Suggested can items include corn, green beans, peas and cranberry sauce. Boxed items could include stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn bread mix and gravy mix. Phone 956.364.4125 for details.
