Strategic Plan

Fiscal Years 2005-09

The 5-Year Strategic Plan for the College will be broken down into biennial Operational Plans that match our budgeting cycle. Operational Plan objectives are delineated even further into individual annual Unit Action Plan strategies of the departmental units that are responsible for actually getting the objective accomplished. Specific areas under each Strategic Plan Goal where objectives will be developed are as follows:

  • Strategic Plan Goal #1: Enhance Instructional Services
    Objectives:

    • Increase the value of educational programs.
    • Implement the QEP goals toward critical thinking skills.
    • Increase accountability and performance measure attainment.
    • Increase educational access.
    • Continue to nurture student retention.
  • Strategic Plan Goal #2: Nurture the College Community
    Objectives:

    • Improve student success through a strengthening of student services.
    • Build leadership, professional development and sense of community within the organization.
    • Establish links and working relationships to past graduates, industry partners, and civic and community leaders.
  • Strategic Plan Goal #3: Stewardship of Resources
    Objectives:

    • Improve fiscal management and risk management practices.
    • Study new ways to improve our IT and Internet access.
    • Initiate a "community network" as an auxiliary enterprise.
    • Work to raise salaries to competitive levels and expand professional development activities.
    • Continue to improve physical facilities to the benefit of the College Community.
  • Strategic Plan Goal #4: Enhance the College Image/Reputation
    Objectives:

    • Focus marketing initiatives on distinctive competencies of the College.
    • Cultivate regional leadership opportunities.
    • Develop institutional effectiveness program review cycles for non-instructional support operations.
    • Meet or exceed all customer service benchmarks on the Customer Service Report.
