College Readiness & Advancement

Formally known as Workforce Development, College Readiness & Advancement was created to reflect the true core values, vision, and mission of the division as aligned with the Institution’s overall mission and vision.

College Readiness & Advancement’s initiative is geared to increase TSTC’s partnerships and collaborations with schools, community based organizations, local workforce agencies and government to strengthen the quality of education in South Texas from elementary to college. The office of College Readiness & Advancement initiates coordinates, facilitates, and implements over 14 outreach/intervention programs serving over thousands of students, parents, and educational professionals in South Texas. Additionally, the office of College Readiness & Advancement has obtained over 5 million dollars in grant and local funding over the past five years to ensure student access to the educational pipeline.

The vision of College Readiness & Advancement is to be a model of excellence within TSTC system and to be recognized as a regional and national leader in “closing the gap” and “increasing access to the educational pipeline” for students from elementary to college that have been traditionally underserved and underrepresented.
