Developmental Education

The Developmental Education Departments support Texas State Technical College Harlingen’s academic and technical programs. Faculty and laboratory assistants maintain the highest standards while working diligently with students to deliver this instruction.

• The Developmental Math offers developmental mathematics courses such as Basic Mathematics, Introductory Algebra and Intermediate Algebra. The Developmental Math Department of Texas State Technical College Harlingen offers support to the technical and academic programs in improving their students' mathematical skills and preparing them for the work-place and/or college-level math and science courses.  
   
• We are the Developmental English Department and we're committed to the success of students requiring further development in their reading or writing skills.  The additional reading and/or writing skills development is designed to prepare students for academic credit courses and can last one-week (Quick Review),* a month or two, or several semesters--whatever a student's needs require.  By catering to the needs of each student, our dedicated faculty members swiftly prepare the students for a successful academic career and a fruitful experience in English composition and other core classes.  Stop by and visit with our expert team anytime or click on the above link to learn more.
