Associate of Science Degrees
TSTC Harlingen proudly introduces seven new Associate of Science (A.S.) degrees. These degrees are specifically designed for the benefit of transfer students. TSTC stands strong and ready to support these new degrees in the areas of engineering, math, science, and health. Students who intend to transfer to a four year university can look forward to a robust education that will prepare them for their future studies.
We are proud of our traditionally strong technical emphasis and carry that forward with our transfer oriented degrees in Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, Health Professions, Mathematics, Nursing Preparatory, and Physics.
Biology:
Students who require an immediate professional degree in biology or who wish to transfer to a four-year institution and major in a biological science will benefit from the new degree offering in Biology. Students in this area are preparing to complete their studies in any one of 10 Biology career tracks.

Computer Science:
Computer Science is a rapidly changing and exciting field. Being fully prepared to transfer to a bachelor’s program at a college or university requires new and innovative degrees. This new degree will prepare students with fundamental principles of Computer Science.

Engineering:
This exciting new degree in Engineering is designed for students planning to transfer to a college or university in order to obtain a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related area such as mathematics. Students in this area are preparing to complete their studies in any one of 200 types of engineering professions.

Health Professions:
An emphasis on biology, chemistry and physics to prepare students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university is the focus of this new degree. Completing this prestigious degree in Health Professions will allow students to embark on their journey towards a future in a medical profession.

Mathematics:
A new, cutting edge degree in Mathematics is designed for students planning to transfer to a college or university in order to obtain a bachelor's degree in Mathematics or any related discipline, such as Physics, Computer Science, Geophysics, Economics, Business and a variety of engineering fields.

Nursing Preparatory:
The Nursing degree program is an exciting new degree that is designed to offer students interested in healthcare careers a broad knowledge based curriculum from which they may further pursue their nursing or allied health professional goals.

Physics:
A bachelor’s degree in Physics or a Physics related discipline such as Astronomy, Geophysics or any engineering field requires a thorough and sound foundation. Students planning to transfer to a college or university and pursue a degree in one of these fields will find that the new, innovative degree in Physics will focus on providing that foundation.
