The purpose of the Academic Distance Education department is to provide quality courses within the academic core at a distance. The distance learning courses offered by TSTC are of the same quality and rigor as traditional face-to-face courses but they will provide you with flexibility that you may not have in an on-campus course.

In addition to basic computer and internet skills, success in an online course requires commitment and self-motivation. If you possess these traits and need some flexibility in your schedule, we may have a course for you.

Currently, TSTC faculty offer fully online courses in English, Government, History, Economics, Sociology, and Spanish. In addition, TSTC offers online courses through Virtual College of Texas (VCT).
